Hello folks, I'm back! it's that time of year again, so I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving holiday, because now it's time for Christmas! Like last year, I will present to you a track from a winter themed level once a day for the next twelve days, up until Christmas! So with out further a due, welcome to year 2 of 12 Days of Christmas!
Day 1: Snowdin Town
If anyone out there looks at my faves, they'll notice that there is a fare amount of Undertale art in it. Say what you will about the game's overwhelming reception, and it's infamous fan base, I still really like Undertale. It had a great story, lovable characters, heartfelt and heartbreaking moments, and most importantly a great soundtrack! It's with out a doubt one of the best soundtracks in video games of the 2010's! And for our first entry of our 12 days, it was a no brainer. As the sign says in the image above, Welcome to Snowdin!
Of all the places I've seen in a video game, Snowdin Town has one of the best Christmas feelings in any video game. There's christmas lights strung all around the houses, there's even a christmas tree in the town! Not to mention it's the home of our two favorite skeleton bros!
The track is truly a wonderful one. I will give an honorable mention to the track "Snowy", which perfectly captures the atmosphere of the winter forests you previously went through. Speaking of atmosphere, Snowdin also captures it's own perfectly. Right away you'll notice that it's actually a sped up version of Snowy, with a few more notes added. It really captures the feeling of being in a town full of nice and hospitable monsters, who love the holiday cheer the town brings. And I can honestly say out of all the songs I've heard so far, this track has the most "Christmasy" feel. When ever I hear this song, I can't think of anything else other than christmas!
Snowdin is definitely one of the most heartwarming songs I've heard in a while, and it's one of the very few I can call a christmas song in a video game!
